Olive is the “Go To” color on many fly patterns. This fly is so versatile and usually the first one we tie on to start the day. There is not much out there that this fly can not imitate. Best of all, it looks like a small Tui Chub minnow and the red bug band does a great job of appearing to be a gill plate. The balanced minnow can be fished so many different ways including, under a large indicator, stripped in as a minnow or big leech and jigged vertically. If you learn to fish this fly correctly and the right time of year, you will be amazed.
